Introduction
My name is Dustin Mielke, I am
currently studying Biotechnology at St. Cloud State University in
Minnesota. I applied for the China REU
internship through Alabama A&M University in the summer of 2012 because
of my enthusiasm for both traveling and biology. This program offered a six week experience
in China which focused on research and cultural education. During our time in China, we traveled to
Shanghai, Beijing, and a few smaller towns, but most of this time was spent in
Nanjing at Nanjing Forestry University in Jiangsu province.
Alabama A&M University is the first internationally funded program
